'Staunch supporter': Philippine Red Cross honors former president Fidel V. Ramos
Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard "Dick" Gordon, on Wednesday, March 20, remembered former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos (FVR) as a "staunch supporter" of the country's premier humanitarian organization.

In a statement, Gordon paid tribute to Ramos on his birthday by acknowledging his unwavering support for the PRC.
The chairman recalled the former president's selfless act of generously giving blood beyond his years.

"I once kidded him, saying, 'Sir, your blood could practically be used for a museum," he said.
On top of that, Gordon said that FVR was a great president who deeply loved his country and strongly supported Subic Bay.
"Where Subic goes, the Philippines goes," he believed in the potential of Subic's young people and volunteers, according to Gordon.
Moreover, the chairman pointed out that his life was an "exemplary dedication" to duty, honor, and country.
By that, he added "everyone must cherish and emulate the life of FVR."
