Speaker Martin Romualdez says the newly-approved Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No.7 will help usher in "a new era of economic vitality" in the Philippines.
The ecstatic House leader had this to say Wednesday night, March 20 as he addressed the plenary just minutes after it overwhelmingly passed the economic Cha-cha measure on third and final reading via nominal vote.
"We have paved the way and created a turning point for our nation," Romualdez said.
"By 288 affirmative votes, or more than the requisite three-fourths vote mandated by the Constitution, we have passed RBH No.7, a resolution poised to catalyze a new era of economic vitality and competitiveness for the Philippines," he said.
RBH No.7 proposes to insert the phrase "unless otherwise provided by law" to Articles XII, XIV and XVI of the 1987 Constitution.

Romualdez said the existing restrictions in these economic provisions have "hampered our full economic potential".
"With the approval of RBH No.7 on the third and final reading, and its subsequent transmission to the Senate, we stand on the cusp of realizing a more open and robust economy," the Leyte 1st district representative said.
"This is more than just an economic imperative; it is a clarion call to action that resonates with the aspirations of the Filipino people for a more prosperous and secure future," he said.
