Party-list Rep. Sam Verzosa was seen enjoying a serving of Halo-Halo Story (HHS), a new brand of the popular Filipino cold dessert which opened its fourth outlet in White Plains West, Quezon City.
Verzosa, boyfriend of actress Rhian Ramos, was the guest of honor at the HHS event. Its White Plains outlet has been drawing lines of customers eager to snack on halo-halo to beat the summer heat.
The brand’s founder, Duncan Yu, said his idea was to create a space where people can come together and enjoy halo-halo while catching up on each other’s lives.
Yu wanted to bring back the vibe of people meeting face to face, rather than just chatting on social media. He envisioned HHS as a place to hang out, where people can “chill” with desserts and talk about anything under the sun.

What makes HHS different is its management’s openness to explore new flavors and ideas. Yu believes new ideas come from the past, and he’s not afraid to take inspiration from traditional Filipino desserts and put his own spin on them.
Aside from its special and regular fare, HHS is introducing a new summer flavor, Buko Pandan, available from March to May.
Another variant, Cinnamon Saba con Hielo, is also now on the menu as a new permanent flavor.
HHS opened its first outlet at the food hall of SM Center Pasig; its second on 42 Quezon Avenue, Quezon City; and the third at the food court of SM Sta. Mesa.
