Honest QCPD cops
Five policemen from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) District Tactical Motorized Unit (DTMU) were honored for their honesty and dedication to duty during a House of Representatives session at the Plenary Hall, on Monday, March 18.
This, after they returned the cash money that they found to its rightful owner last January 30, 2024.
Congressman Khymer Adan T Olaso of the 1st District of Zamboanga honored them for demonstrating their commitment to serving the public.
QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan also commended the DTMU personnel.
"Ang kanilang dedikasyon ay inspirasyon sa lahat ng miyembro ng pambansang pulisya, ito ay nagpapakita ng kahalagahan ng paglilingkod nang may integridad, propesyonalismo, at pagmamalasakit sa kapwa (Their dedication is an inspiration to all members of the national police as it demonstrates the importance of serving with integrity, professionalism, and concern for others)," he said.
The DTMU personnel were on patrol duty along Edsa/Balintawak when they found a blue plastic bag at the Balintawak Market containing cash worth P30,000 with an identification card of a certain Edgar Osila.
They were able to find the owner of the bag who turned out to be the employer of Osila.
The police immediately turned over the money to the owner.
