Mayor Joy distributes fire extinguishers to public schools

The local government of Quezon City distributed around 50 fire extinguishers to public elementary and high schools in the city on Tuesday, March 19.

The distribution of fire extinguishers is in line with the observance of the Fire Prevention Month.
According to the city’s public information office, the city government has distributed a total of 2,440 fire extinguishers since 2023 to make sure that the schools are safe from fires.
Schools Division Superintendent Ms. Carleen Sedilla received the fire extinguishers from Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte together with Schools Division Office (SDO) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management head Mr. Dale Latawan, and the city’s Non-Teaching Personnel Association President Mr. James Lambengco.

Principals and Supervisors Association (PRINSA) President Dr. Joseph Palisoc, Philippine Elementary School Principals Association (PESPA) President Mr. Julio Villapa, and Public School Teachers Association (QCPSTA) President Ms. Melanie Ranjo witnessed the turnover.
