BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 26 wanted persons in the Caraga region on Monday, March 18.
Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said on Wednesday, March 20, that eight of them were most wanted persons (MWPs) on the city and municipal levels.
The Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office arrested Dion, 30, second provincial MWP, for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004 in Cagwait.
Ometer said Jeo, 64, second on the municipal level; Mar, 37, fourth, and Jem, 28, fifth, were arrested by the Hinatuan Municipal Police Station for illegal gambling.
Al, 54, wanted for violation of bench warrant, was arrested in Barobo, while Rei voluntarily surrendered to the Tandag City Police Station for illegal gambling.
Ometer identified the other suspects as Zy, Kar, Just, Jo, Rem, Lar, Arl, Myl, Teo, El, and Cris.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft commended lawmen and citizens for their united approach in arresting these fugitives.
“The active participation of the community and other stakeholders hastened the putting of criminals behind bars and giving justice to the victims of their crimes.”
