Pasig City announces rerouting scheme, activities for Holy Week

The local government of Pasig announced on Tuesday, March 19, a traffic re-routing scheme to assist motorists as traffic jams are expected in parts of the city during the activities for Holy Week.

It said that starting on Friday, March 22, to March 25, 27, 29, and 31, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral will conduct the activities that will affect traffic.

These are the activities to be conducted on the following dates and times: 

 

March 22 (Friday): Viernes Dolores, 7 p.m. onwards

 

March 25 (Monday): Holy Monday Procession, 7 p.m. onwards

 

March 27 (Wednesday): Holy Wednesday Procession, 6 p.m. onwards

 

March 29 (Friday): Good Friday, 5 a.m. onwards; Prusisyon ng Paglilibing, 5 p.m. onwards; and Soledad Procession, 8 p.m. onwards

 

March 31, 2024 (Sunday): Easter Sunday, 3 a.m. onwards

 

All of the activities will affect the traffic flow on the following roads: 

  • Jabson Street (Bambang, Malinao)
  • Caruncho Avenue (in front of Pasig City Hall)
  • M.H. Del Pilar Street (San Nicolas, Sta. Cruz, Ston. Tomas) 
  • Angeles Street (Sagad)
  • Dr. Pilapil Street (Sagad)
  • Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue (Kapasigan)
  • Mabini Street
  • Plaza Rizal Intersection
  • P. Burgos Street 
  • Lopez Jaena Street
  • Dr. Garcia Street

It advised all motorists to take alternate routes. 

All vehicles from Bagumbayan or San Joaquin going to Pasig Mega Market are advised to take Elisco Road, then left to M. Jimenez Street to cross the Kalawaan Bridge, right to F. Antonio Street, left to Balderrama Street to destination; or take R. Jabson Street, then right to G. Raymundo Street, left to F. Manalo Street and right onto Caruncho Avenue to the destination.

All vehicles from Bagumbayan or San Joaquin going to Rotonda are advised to take M. Concepcion Street,  right to C-5 Road to destination; or take M. Concepcion Street, then right to F. Flores Street to cross Kaunlaran Bridge, left to Lopez Jaena Street, then left to Sta. Rosa Bridge to destination.

All vehicles from Pasig Mega Market going to San Joaquin or Bagumbayan should take F. Manalo Street, then left to F. Antonio Street, right to Pio Alvarez Street, then right to Elisco Road to the destination.

All vehicles from Rotonda going to San Joaquin or Pateros should take C-5 Road, then U-turn at the Kalayaan elevated U-turn slot, right to San Guillermo Street, and straight to M. Concepcion Street to destination; or take C-5 Road, left to Flores Street, right to Pvt. Aurellana Street, left to Intalan Street to cross Sta. Rosa Bridge, right to Lopez Jaena Street, left to E. Santos Street, then right to R. Jabson Street to the destination.

All vehicles from Pasig Mega Market going to Rotonda should take Market Avenue, then left to Mercedes Avenue, left to C. Raymundo Avenue to the destination.

All vehicles from Rotonda going to Pasig Mega Market are advised to take C. Raymundo Avenue, then right to Mercedes Avenue, and right to Market Avenue to the destination.
