BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera seized P357,539,749.46 worth of suspected shabu and marijuana in anti-illegal drug operations from December 12, 2023 to March 12, 2024.

Forty-seven drug personalities and high-value targets were arrested in buy-bust and search warrant operations and 72 cases were filed in different courts in the region against the suspects.
The PDEA told the first Cordillera Regional Peace and Order Council meeting on March 14 that 85.3515 grams of shabu valued at P580,390.20, 55,680.7389 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P6,681,668.67, and 392,446.1126 grams of marijuana stalks valued at P47,093,533.51 were confiscated.
It added that marijuana plants worth P30,192,095.10, P3,679,600 marijuana seedlings, and P2,288.74 marijuana leaves with fruiting tops were uprooted and burned in eradication operations.
Authorities seized P1,184,160 worth of marijuana in tubular form, P30,192,095 marijuana bricks, and P1,793 marijuana oil in interdiction checkpoints.
These marijuana came from the hinterlands of Tinglayan, Kalinga; Sadanga, Mountain Province, and Kibungan, Benguet.
Drug pushers from the lowland area and local drug personalities smuggle marijuana in different forms from these areas to some parts of Luzon.
Marijuana hashish and oil, including dried marijuana in bricks and tubular form, transported out of the region were produced in Tinglayan.
