Over P800,000 worth of shabu seized in San Mateo buy-bust

Two friends were arrested after they yielded more than P800,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in San Mateo, Rizal on Tuesday, March 19, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said Wednesday, March 20.

They were identified as "Jess", 39, and "Mae", 28, both considered as high-value individuals who were previously arrested multiple times for illegal drug trade.

According to the police report, the suspects were nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted by the San Mateo Municipal Drug Enforcement Team on Daang Bakal Street in Barangay Malanday, San Mateo Rizal.

Recovered from them were P816,000 worth of shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

Jess and Mae are now facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Art II Sec. 26 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

They are now detained at San Mateo Police custodial facility.
