Davao Oriental 2nd district Rep. Cheeno Almario called the cruel death of the Golden Retriever Killua as "straight up murder".

Almario attended a press conference in the House of Representatives Wednesday, March 20 where he was asked about the viral story of Killua.

"When you own so many animals that you care for and you really give the attention to, it really hurts as an animal lover," said the Mindanaoan, who proudly shared to reporters that he was a furparent to eight dogs.

"I'll understand siguro kung tinakot niya para hindi lumapit (I'll understand if he just tried to scare him off)...pero (but) to kill the animal already speaks of the motive. There was really an intent to end the life of that animal," he said.

"To me it is tantamount to--I mean it is murder, straight up. Murder," underscored Almario, a neophyte solon in the 19th Congress.

"It may not involve another human being, but to an animal who is loved and cared by its owner, masakit din na bagay yun (that also hurts)," he noted.

A certain Anthony Solares reportedly beat the Golden Retriever to death. The dog was found dead inside a sack.
