Through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development, Gov. Aris Aumentado handed out monetary aid to the relatives of the slain NPA rebels.
Aumentado said the province allotted P125,000 to the families of Domingo Ompoc, Perlito Historia, Marlon Omosura, Hannah Jay Cesista, and Alberto Sancho.
The encounter happened on February 28 in Barangay Campagao.
A member of the Bohol Provincial Police Office also died in the gunfight.
Aumentado said P10,000 was also given to the owners of two houses that were damaged during the encounter.
He called on Boholanos to help in the campaign to end insurgency in the province.
“It is my hope that this should be the last time that lives were lost for fighting against the government. Let us unite and help each other to find solutions to the everyday challenge that we are facing. Together, we can move forward,” said Aumentado.
