BAGUIO CITY – Police reported an 11.46 percent drop in the crime rate in this city last year.

The Baguio City Police Office said 1,706 cases were recorded last year compared to the 1,927 the year before.
Theft, physical harm, and rape were among the top three crimes of concern here.
The BCPO said this city is 100 percent drug-cleared.
Of the 128 barangays, one remains unaffected, three are drug-free, and 124 barangays are drug-cleared.
One-hundred two individuals were nabbed in 24 anti-illegal gambling operations in 2022. In 2023, 16 operations were conducted which led to the arrest of 71 suspects.
Twenty-five violators were caught in seven operations against illegal gambling in the first quarter of 2024.
The BCPO said internal police disciplinary mechanisms are in place to promote integrity within their ranks.
Any personnel found engaging in illegal activities will be subject to administrative and criminal penalties as part, the BCPO said, of its commitment to accountability and professionalism.
