NEA partnered with the Antique Electric Cooperative Inc. (ANTECO) in installing distribution facilities and electrical wirings in the far-flung beneficiary communities in the towns of San Jose de Buenavista, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, Sibalom, San Remigio, Belison, Patnongon, Culasi, and Sebaste.
Engr. Ernesto Silvano Jr., deputy administrator of NEA, said that Antique is one of the provinces with the biggest allocation for the SEP.
The NEA-ANTECO program was welcomed by Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao.
“The purpose in Antique is that no barangay should be left behind, no sitio should be left behind, and no one is purposefully left behind,” said Cadiao during the recent ceremonial switch-on in Sibalom.
Cadiao said the electrification project may help neutralize support for communist insurgency.
She added that the project is helping far-flung communities in terms of education, healthcare, and livelihood.
