TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police seized marijuana worth P4.3 million from three suspected drug pushers in a checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan, Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga before dawn on Saturday, March 2.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, Kalinga police spokesperson, identified the suspects as Christian Lester Eliseo Mariano, 31, driver of a Toyota Rush with license plates NHJ-7808, and passengers Lloyd Driggs Oly Fernandez, 28, helper, and Romnick Cagunot Mendoza,32, tricycle driver, all residents of Paso de Blas, Valenzuela City.
Lawmen flagged down the suspects but Mariano accelerated and rammed the checkpoint signage.
Police searched the vehicle and found 35 dried marijuana bricks and one tubular marijuana. Contraband weighed about 36 kilograms and had a standard drug price of P4,320,000.
Police Col. Freddie M. Lazona, Kalinga police director, commended the arresting team for their accomplishment.
Suspects are detained at the Lubuagan police station and face appropriate charges. Confiscated items were taken to the police station for documentation and proper disposition.
