Woman arrested after stealing gadgets from doctor inside hospital ward

An 18-year-old woman was arrested after stealing the gadgets of a surgeon inside a surgery ward of Ospital ng Maynila in Malate, Manila on Tuesday morning, March 19.

The Manila Police District identified the suspect as Karell Labindao, a resident of Tondo, Manila.

According to the police report, the doctor was at the surgery ward when he saw the suspect take his cellphone and tablet that were placed on top of his table.

He shouted for help and tried to approach the suspect but she hurriedly ran away with the gadgets.

Security guards of the hospital responded and chased the suspect.

The lady suspect was arrested but the stolen items were no longer in her possession.

Investigators said the gadgets were immediately passed by the suspect to her unidentified cohort who managed to escape.

The victim said the stolen items were worth over P100,000.

The arrested suspect faces theft charges while the police are still conducting follow-up operations to locate the her cohort.
