Recognizing excellence: Nominations now open for UP Alumni Awards 2024

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) announced on Tuesday, March 19, that nominations are now open for the Distinguished Alumni Awards 2024, with a deadline of April 1.

UPAA President Robert Aranton emphasized the search for "everyday heroes" or "unsung achievers," individuals who have been making an impact in "obscure" areas in the Philippines or abroad.

"The UPAA grants awards to UP alumni who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in their chosen fields of endeavor and have made outstanding contributions that bring significant benefits to society and distinct honor to the University," UP said.

Nominees should have changed the communities in which they have been actively involved, locally or internationally.

The categories for nominations include the UPAA Most Distinguished Alumna and/or Alumnus Award, Lifetime Distinguished Achievement Awards, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, and Multigenerational UP Alumni Family Awards.

The university said the nomination form is available at the UPAA Secretariat located at Ang Bahay ng Alumni, Magsaysay Ave., UP Diliman, Quezon City.
