Heads up for singles aged 31 and above! The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) confirmed that the median age for marriage among Filipinos falls between 28 and 30 years old.
Based on the PSA data on marriages, the average age for women getting married in the Philippines is 28 years old, while for men, it stands at 30 years old.
However, there also seems to be a shift towards people getting married at later stages in their lives.
According to the PSA, the typical age for men entering into marriage has climbed from 29 years old in 2021, with women's average age also rising from 27 years old.
Meanwhile, there has been an uptick in the number of officially registered marriages in the country.
In 2022, the PSA recorded 449,428 couples saying their vows, a 26 percent increase from the 356,839 marriages registered in the previous year.
Despite the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the PSA documented 240,775 marriages.
While the average age for marriage centers around 29 years old, the average age for women having their first child is 24 years old.
The PSA, however, noted that the time gaps between baby births have been widening over the past nine years.
The PSA reported that birth intervals among Filipinas were approximately 35 months in 2013, which increased to 37 months in 2017, and further extended to 47 months by 2022.
