ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 chief, has warned Police Col. Ronaldo Palomo of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) over his alleged non-performance in the campaign against illegal gambling.

"If he cannot do his job, we might as well recommend for his relief (as Iloilo police chief), " said Wanky.
The IPPO had zero operations against illegal gambling since last week.
The alleged non-performance of IPPO units also came after the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) closed 7 Aces Games and Amusement Corp., the only company authorized to legally operate Small Town Lottery (STL) in Iloilo.
With the non-existence of authorized STL operations, police in the 42 towns and component city of Passi were supposed to strengthen their illegal gambling campaign.
Wanky noted that illegal gambling was one of the key points discussed by Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. during a recent courtesy call.
