Nasreen Ismail-Garbin, head of PidoDidays, a women organization in Legazpi City, said the Tarabangan Caravan for women was conducted in partnership with Ako Bicol party-list and Team APG.
At least 700 women benefited and thousands of solo parents received grocery items and cash assistance.
Lawyer Alfredo Garbin, executive director of Ako Bicol party-list, said that the event aims to bring medical services available to public, especially to the women’s sector.
"You make public health accessible especially to those who needs it. ‘Yung mga mahihirap, ‘yung mga walang pera, nagbibigay diyan ng buwanan na maintenance sa kanilang high blood o kaya alta presyon," he said.
Garbin said the Ako Bicol Tarabangan caravan has been serving different sectors in the Bicol region for years now.
Ako Bicol partnered with Tanchuling Hospital, other government agencies, business establishments, and other individuals to bring government health services closer to every Bicolano.
Garbin said that the event is a priority project of Ako Bicol party-list through its chairman, House Appropriation chairman Rep. Zaldy Co.
