According to Ynares, the 14-year-old girl, identified as Savannah Denobo Sabusab, was last seen on February 24 at Sitio Cacalog, Antipolo City. She was later found in Barangay Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet, where city government personnel travelled to for seven hours.
A heartbreaking reunion happened between Savannah and her mother Gina, who were separated for over two weeks)," Ynares said.
We also took the chance to talk to the child and decided that she and her mother will have to undergo different interventions to guide, help, and continuously monitor Savannah)," he added.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to the city government of La Trinidad, Benguet, especially to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) official Irene Chanfing and Barangay Betag Captain Mona Lisa Comila for their swift action in Savannah's search and recovery.
For those thinking as to what happened to Savannah and what she was doing in Benguet, please don't ask anymore. What's important is that she promised to never do it again, and in return, I told her that if she keeps her promise and finishes her senior high school at Antipolo National High School, the city government will fund her college education)," Ynares said.
