Jano confronted his uncle when he saw the carabao loitering in the area.
Rafael scolded Jano, and a commotion erupted. Jano took a homemade gun and shot the victim. Rafael’s 45-year-old son was slightly wounded in the commotion.
The victim suffered a bullet wound and was declared dead on arrival at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
Police recovered from the crime scene an empty shell of a homemade shotgun.
Nillosan said the suspect was arrested after he was sighted by police riding a tricycle on the highway. The suspect’s firearm was recovered from a grassy area the following day.
She said that the victim and the suspect had previous misunderstandings and this most recent incident might have triggered the suspect to be more agitated against his relatives.
Homicide charges are being readied against the suspect.
