Deadline for nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Gov’t Workers is on March 31, reminds CSC

Don't pass up the opportunity to nominate exceptional government employees for the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said nominations can be submitted electronically or in person to the CSC's regional and field offices until March 31.

The complete guidelines and nomination forms may be downloaded from the CSC website.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles encouraged heads of government agencies, human resources management offices, and the public to nominate deserving government officials and employees for the annual awards.

The activity, which is part of the CSC's Honor Awards Program (HAP), seeks to recognize and reward public service exemplars who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service.

By highlighting these exemplary individuals, the CSC hopes to inspire civil servants to improve their performance and become more involved in public service.

“Let us continue this tradition of honoring outstanding public servants who, through selfless dedication and unwavering commitment, have shown their love for our country and tirelessly work for the welfare of others," Nograles said.

Government workers in both career and non-career services, as well as appointive barangay officials, are eligible for nomination in one of the three categories under the Search.

These categories include the Presidential Lingkod Bayan, which recognizes outstanding achievements with a national impact, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) for consistent exemplary behavior, and the CSC Pagasa Awards for contributions to a department, office, community, or region.

However, CSC reminded that job order or contract of service employees are excluded from the coverage of the program.

Posthumous nominations for public servants who died in the line of duty or while carrying out their official duties and responsibilities are also accepted, as long as they are made within 12 months of death.

The awards ceremony will be led by the President of the Philippines.

In addition to recognition, awardees are eligible for various prizes and incentives.

Among the benefits are cash prizes, automatic promotion or salary increases equivalent to the next higher position, a one-time executive check-up, and scholarship opportunities for graduate degree programs offered by any of the CSC's partner educational institutions.

Last Feb. 14, President Marcos awarded the 27 group and individual winners of the 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers in Malacañang.

The program was also streamed live on Radio Television Malacañang and the CSC Facebook Page.
