'Dangerous' heat index recorded in La Union at 47°C — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, March 19, said it recorded a “dangerous” heat index in La Union reaching 47 degrees Celcius (°C).

PAGASA noted that dangerous heat indices range from 42°C to 51°C.
It also said heat cramps and heat exhaustion are “likely” to be experienced, while there is a chance for heat stroke to occur due to continuous activity.
Meanwhile, the public in most areas of the country was warned to exercise “extreme caution,” as the heat indices ranged from 33°C to 41°C on Tuesday.
PAGASA still warned the public that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are still possible while continuing activity could also lead to heat stroke with these heat indices.
In Dagupan, Pangasinan, and in Roxas City, Capiz, a heat index of 40°C was recorded.
