BACOLOD CITY – A couple and a waiter were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Monday, March 18.
Police withheld the names of the 45-year-old male subject, his 55-year-old live-in partner, and the 21-year-old waiter, who was tagged as the couple’s alleged drug runner.
Confiscated from them were 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P204,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Police Major Joy Ellaga, deputy chief of the Victorias City Police Station, said the subject was a street-level individual while the two others were newly-identified individuals.
Ellaga said the operation was launched after they received information about his alleged disposal of big volume of illegal drugs in the city.
She added that previously arrested drug offenders are automatically being monitored by the police.
Ellaga said that the subject of the operation was arrested for a drug offense in 2016 but was later released from jail due to a plea-bargaining agreement.
She said the subject will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. His two companions may be charged for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and illegal drug use.
