Senior Fire Officer 3 (SFO3) Annie Rose Limsiaco, acting municipal fire marshal, said they received a fire call around 4:15 a.m.
Limsiaco said that based on their investigation and a witness, the blaze reportedly broke out from the living room of a two-story house.
The second floor of the house was being utilized by the owner as residence while the ground floor was being leased as commercial spaces, she added.
Limsiaco said the fire also destroyed another house, and partially damaged a church, a “sari-sari” (community convenience store), a kiosk, a remittance firm, and a salon, most of them made of light materials.
Damage to property was placed at P85,000.
She said that a short circuit from an overheated electric fan could be a possible cause of the blaze.
Limsiaco said that fire out was declared at 6:05 a.m. No injuries were recorded in the fire.
