This year's theme – “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nagiisa” – highlights the importance of unity and cooperation in ensuring a fire safe and disaster resilient community.

Firefighters from across the country are competing in various firefighting and rescue events.

A Battle of the Bands featuring talent within the agency will be held to foster more camaraderie and unity among competing firefighting teams.

The opening was attended by National Emergency 911 Executive Director Francis Fajardo, guest of honor and speaker, and BFP chief Fire Director Louie Puracan.

NFO is an annual competition of firefighting and rescue disciplines in the Philippines.

With an estimated 1,600 competitors from the government, commercial and industrial sectors, and barangay level, the three-day event  features tower blitz, fire ground search and rescue challenges, and search and rescue attack (SARA), firefighting relay, and high-level ropemanship, among others.
