Woman killed in Taytay road crash

A woman was killed after the motorcycle that she and her husband were riding was hit by an overtaking bus in Taytay, Rizal early Monday morning, March. 18.

According to the initial investigation by the police, the couple was cruising along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay Dolores after coming from Taytay Market at around 4 a.m., when the overtaking bus hit them, instantly killing the woman while her husband suffered wounds on his left arm.

Despite the road being an accident prone area, the bus driver said that he decided to overtake the slow-moving motorcycle he was following which caused him to fail to see the victims on their motorcycle on the opposite lane.

Meanwhile, the incident caused heavy buildup of traffic in the area.

The woman's body was removed from the scene of the incident at around 7 a.m.

The bus driver is now under police custody.
