Toddler drowns in irrigation canal in Abra

TAYUM, Abra – A two-year-old child drowned in an irrigation canal in Barangay Gaddani here on Sunday, March 17.

Police Executive Master Sergeant Rholen Emherson S. Bigornia, duty officer of the Tayum police station, identified the victim as Prince Wayne German.

The boy was last seen when his grandmother called him to wash his feet on Sunday, March 17.

German was not seen in their house near an irrigation canal, prompting his relatives to report his disappearance to the police.

Authorities decided to drain the water from the canal after they failed to locate the child on Monday, March 18.

The victim’s body was found after water from the canal was drained.

Police said German might have slipped and drowned in the canal.
