BACOLOD CITY – A 20-year-old pharmacy student of Riverside College here was crowned this year’s Sinigayan Queen during the 28th Sinigayan Festival in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on March 17.

Rochelle Cabanyog of Barangay Bulanon bested 11 other candidates during the coronation night co-presented by the Sagay Sigay Jaycees at the public plaza. She received P30,000 cash prize and bagged Best Swimwear, Gown, and Talent.
Cameroon Padios of Barangay Vito was hailed Sinigayan Queen-Tourism. She bagged the Best Festival Wear award.
Therese Pira-an of Barangay General Luna was crowned Sinigayan Queen-Charity and Rose Lindayao of Barangay Old Sagay was first princess and Sherelen Portunes of Barangay Poblacion 1 was hailed second princess. Padios and Pira-an each took home P15,000 cash prize.
Francine Rios of Barangay Fabrica won Best Advocacy for her urban gardening and marine resources preservation advocacy.
The pageant was one of the most anticipated events of the festivity from March 15 to 19.
