Malasakit@Bayanihan Party-list Rep. Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. gave former Biliran lone district Rep. Glenn Chong a lecture on how a man should treat a woman, especially when recent events are taken into account.
Speaking in a press conference Monday, March 18, Golez minced no words in giving Chong some pointers on how to treat women.
"I think hindi po sinasampal ang mga babae (I think you don't slap women) even in rhetoric or even in jokes," Golez said.
"As a matter of fact, istrikto nga tayo diyan because meron tayong batas laban sa
karahasan against women and children. Hindi po sila sinasampal minamahal po sila," he said.
(We're very strict with that since we have a law on violence against women and children. You don't slap them, you love them.)

Golez was referring to the prayer rally in Manila Tuesday, March 12, wherein Chong publicly threatened to the slap First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. At that time, the First Lady was out of the country.
The prayer rally was organized by supporters of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) church leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Chong, a lawyer, only served one term as Biliran congressman, specifically from 2007 to 2010. He sought re-election in 2010 and 2013, but lost twice to Rogelio Espina.
He ran for senator during the 2019 midterm election, but lost.
