Drug surrenderer busted in Silay City

BACOLOD CITY – A drug surrenderer was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Lupa, Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, March 16.

Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Eric Ardenio of Barangay Guinhalaran. A street-level individual, the suspect yielded 26 grams of suspected shabu worth P176,800.

Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, said the suspect surrendered through “Oplan: Tokhang” in January 2018.

Darroca said Ardenio failed to finish his community drug rehabilitation program since he reportedly tested positive for drug use. Two months later, he was arrested for a drug offense and was released from jail in 2019 through a plea bargaining agreement, Darroca added.
