Mayor Francis leads grand opening of Manila Chinatown's oldest fast food restaurant in San Juan
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora led the grand opening of the first branch of Chuan Kee, Manila Chinatown's oldest fast food restaurant, in Blumentritt, San Juan on Friday, March 15.

Zamora joined Chuan Kee owner Gerie Chua in the ribbon-cutting and blessing, together with San Juan's councilors and other Filipino-Chinese businessmen.
Chuan Kee is an 84-year-old fast food chain originally located in Manila Chinatown that offers Chinese foods.
The opening of Chuan Kee in San Juan allows the San Juaneños to have easy access to the taste of authentic and Chinese cuisines without traveling to Chinatown in Manila anymore.
They also brought Binondo's famous hopia of the Eng Bee Tin and the famous tender tendon rice of the Great Buddha Cafe.

Zamora showed his support to the owner of Chuan Kee and invited the city residents to visit the fast food restaurant located at the corner of Blumentritt Street and San Luis Street in Barangay Batis.
“Nandito po ako, ito ang aking paraan na ipakita ang aking buong suporta sa kanilang pagbubukas. Hindi lamang ngayong grand opening ngunit sa mga panahon na sila'y magnenegosyo rito. Tayo po ay susuporta, kakain po tayo rito. Susubukan po natin ang iba't-ibang pagkain nila (Here I am, this is my way of showing my full support for their opening. Not only this grand opening but during the times when they do business here. We will support, we will eat here. We will try their different foods)," Zamora said.
“Ako po ay naka-Facebook live ngayon. Ito'y aking paraan na isigaw sa buong San Juan at ganoon din sa mga nanunuod mula sa ibang lungsod na bukas na ang Chuan Kee. Suportahan natin sila, ipakita natin ang ating pagmamahal sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng pagdalaw rito, kumain dito (I'm on Facebook live right now. This is my way of telling all San Juaneños and those who are watching from other cities that Chuan Kee is open here in San Juan. Let's support them, let's show them our love by visiting and eating here)," he added.
Zamora also thanked Chua for choosing their city to build the first branch of Chuan Kee in San Juan, saying that it only shows that their city is growing.
Chuan Kee in San Juan serves as a dine-in place for people who want to taste Chinese dishes such as Kiampong, Black Chicken Soup, Gokong Soup, Beef Wanton Noodles, Xiao Long Bao, and Siopao, among others, and shop for their favorite “pasalubong” at the same time.
