Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan ordered on Friday, March 15, the frontline workers to exercise extra vigilance during the observance of Holy Week.

Personnel from the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department (PSTMD) were directed to remain alert during the Holy Week.
Malapitan specifically urged frontline workers to prioritize peace and order, emphasizing the importance of assisting the public, especially in areas expected to experience influx of visitors.

As Holy Week approaches, I urge our operatives and other frontline personnel to stay alert during these time to ensure the safety of our citizens, particularly the devotees at terminals, churches, and on the roads),” he said.

The city mayor also called on barangay officials to prioritize the safety of their communities during the Holy Week.
I also appeal to our barangay officials to keep the areas within your jurisdiction safe, especially since many of our fellow citizens will be on vacation and away from their homes),” Malapitan said.

Additionally, he urged the general public to work together with city authorities to prevent any unfavorable incidents.
“We aim for a zero-crime rate Caloocan during the Holy Week. We aim for a zero-crime rate in Caloocan during the Holy Week. So to all the residents of Caloocan, let's continue to cooperate with the authorities to ensure that our reflections during this time are safe and solemn),” he added.
