QCitizens participate on QCPD's weeklong outreach events
A total of 13,849 residents participated in a weeklong series of community engagement, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced on Friday, March 15.
The activities from March 9-15 were done through a collaboration with advocacy support groups in the city.
The QCPD organized 85 outreach programs aimed at strengthening the bond between the law enforcers and the community.
Lectures were held about Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness (CATA), Buhay Ingatan, Dorga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program/Drug Awareness, and Crime Prevention Safety Tips.
They also conducted livelihood workshops, offered free haircuts, and distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and PARAK newspaper that features QCPD’s operational accomplishments.
Participants also received food packs.
"This concerted effort underscores the QCPD's commitment to proactive community policing, prioritizing outreach and collaboration to address local needs and concerns. By engaging directly with residents, the QCPD aims to maintain the trust of the public, enhance public safety, and promote a sense of unity within Quezon City," Police Brig. Gen. Pedrico Maranan said.
