BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 19 wanted persons in a one-day manhunt operation in the Caraga region on Wednesday, March 13.
The Police Regional Office 13-Regional Operations Division said five wanted persons were arrested by the Agusan del Sur police, Surigao del Sur police, three; Butuan City police, eight, and Surigao del Norte police, three.
“These accomplishments serve as clear proof on the dedication and commitment of Caraga cops in serving and protecting the people,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said.
“The intensified law enforcement operations in the region are in compliance with the implementation of aggressive and honest law enforcement operations under the five-focused agenda of Police Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police.”
Arrested in Agusan del Sur were Elmar, for murder; Aniano, statutory rape; Marlon, lascivious conduct; Reynaldo, estafa; and Jade, ordinance violation.
Nabbed in Surigao del Sur were Celso for rape with homicide and Patrick and Julius for illegal gambling.
Celso was the No. 1 most wanted persons in Surigao del Sur. He was the primary suspect in the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl in Barangay Poblacion, Lingig, on July 26, 2022.
In Butuan City, Roel was arrested for robbery, Julius and Warlita for estafa, Carlos and Hanzel for violation of ordinances, Quiosan and Robert for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Edrian for theft.
In Surigao del Norte, apprehended were Jay-ar, for rape; Jerome, violence against women and children, and a 17-year-old minor for rape.
