Walang pasok: March 22 declared special non-working day in Cavite

CAVITE – The Office of the President declared March 22 a special non-working day in the province.

The date, which falls on a Friday, is the birth anniversary of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.

Proclamation No. 492, uploaded in the Official Gazette on March 12, stated that the holiday is meant to give Caviteños an opportunity to participate in activities to honor the first President of the Philippine Republic.

Aguinaldo was born in Cavite el Viejo, now known as the Municipality of Kawit, on March 22, 1869.

It was in his ancestral home in Kawit where he declared the Philippine Independence in 1898.
