From his scripted TikTok videos, Dindo Caraig stepped out of his comfort zone to debut his single "Kung Hindi Ikaw," composed by Vehnee Saturno.

During the launch of his song held at the Karma Lounge in Tomas Morato, Quezon City, Dindo shared that it was an honor for him to sing a Vehnee Saturno song.

"I’ve always admired Vehnee’s compositions,” he confessed. “To have the opportunity to breathe life into one of his creations is both thrilling and humbling," Dindo said.

Vehnee shared in a prepared statement that, he chose the song for Dindo because it fits his voice.

"The song really fits his voice. Dindo possesses a unique range and voice quality that sets him apart," he said.

The 25-year-old singer and TikToker found his love for singing at a young age. According to Dindo, he used to join singing contests in his hometown and won several awards.

"Grade 2, sumasali na po ako ng singing contest, kahit medyo hindi pa po mature yung boses ko nananalo naman po ako, kahit po yung maliliit na competition sa barangayan sumali po ako," he said.

(I started joining a singing contest when I was in second grade. Even though my voice was still not mature at that time, I still won several awards. I also joined an inter-barangay singing contest before)

Discovering his passion for singing, Dindo had to stop when he transferred in Manila for work. Trying his luck with acting, he made a name on the Tiktok scene with the title "Scripted King."

Dindo explained that there was a time when he went viral, and several news outlets wanted to interview him, but he got scared and deactivated all his social media accounts.

"Ang daming pong tumawag sa akin nun, mga taga-TV po pero dinecline ko po yun kasi natakot ako, kaya nagdeactivate po ako nun. Yun po pala ay okay lang po maging scripted kaya po nanghinayang ako," Dindo said.

(People called me to do interviews for TV, but I declined them because I was scared. So, I deactivated my social media accounts. It was then, I realized that my scripted content was okay, so I regretted not doing it)

Discovering his voice

Although he still posts his scripted content, Dindo finds his way back into music with the help of his voice coach, Roeder Camanag, who's also one of Vehnee's singers in the 80s.

According to Roeder, Dindo explored a new technique that allowed him to tap into his authentic voice.

"He had a very raw talent, so my part is to make him realize what he has and, at the same time ma-embrace niya yung artistry nung ginagawa niya," Roeder said.
