A Malaysian man was arrested by members of the Pasay City police Baclaran sub-station for alleged theft on Tuesday, March 12.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Mario Mayames said the suspect, identified as alias Yap, 38, was arrested after a complaint of theft was filed against him by a certain Almirol Jr., 48, and a resident of Jorge Bocobo St., Malate Manila
Mayames said the suspect was arrested in front of a fast food restaurant located along Service Road, Roxas Boulevard, Barangay 76, Zone10, Pasay City.
He said Almirol filed a complaint with the Baclaran sub-station claiming the suspect took his wallet containing P15,000 cash.
Almirol told police that he and the suspect were on board a car and stopped in front of a restaurant along Roxas Boulevard to go to the restroom and left the suspect inside the car.
He said that when he returned to the car, the suspect was already missing as well as his wallet containing P15,000 cash.
The victim told the police that the suspect was found standing in front of the restaurant and confronted him.
During the confrontation, the victim found his wallet inside the pocket of the suspect with P5,000 already missing.
