The Pasay City government announced that starting March 18, the Single-Ticketing System (STS) will be fully implemented in the city.
According to Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) head Arturo Fortaleza, the implementation of the single-ticketing system is based on City Ordinance No. 6248, S2023 adopting the Metro Manila Traffic Code (MMTC).
The city will start the implementation of the system that imposes fines and penalties for common traffic violations in the National Capital Region.
More traffic enforcers will be deployed around the city to ensure that the policy is fully implemented.
Fortaleza said they already have 30 handheld devices for the STS.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted a pilot run of the STS in May last year in five cities in Metro Manila.
The program also simplifies the payment of penalties to help cut and limit opportunities for corruption.
