Tirso Cruz III quits FDCP

Tirso Cruz III has resigned as chairman of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

The council's technical consultant, film director Jose Javier Reyes, confirmed this recently, saying "personal reasons" led to Cruz's decision.

Cruz occupied the position for 20 months.

He succeeded former actress-beauty queen Liza Diño in July 2022.

Reyes denied talk about him supposedly being appointed as FDCP Chair.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Reyes made clear, "The Palace has not appointed Pip's (Cruz's nickname) successor."

Rica Arevalo is now officer-in-charge of the FDCP.

She is project development officer of the council's Film Education Division.
