Marcos assured Gov. JC Rahman Nava and Rep. Maria Lucille Nava that she will provide additional funding for the improvement of the Nueva Valencia District Hospital in Nueva Valencia.
The Navas have been lobbying the proposed improvement of the hospital from the presidential sister.
Nava, a doctor, said there is an urgent need to upgrade hospital facilities to lighten the burden of indigent residents.
Serious medical cases are referred to hospitals in Iloilo City but this has become a financial burden to many residents of Guimaras.
Sen. Marcos said there is a need to improve the facilities as Guimaras is growing and businesses continue to flourish which are proofs of its progressive economy.
