Palawan Congressman Salvame passes away

Palawan 1st district Rep. Edgardo “Egay” Lim Salvame has passed away.

“Sa ngalan ng pamilya Salvame, malungkot po naming ibinabalita ang di-inaasahang paglisan sa kabilang buhay ng ating minamahal na Congressman,” read a post on the lawmaker’s official Facebook page.

(On behalf of the Salvame family, we are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Congressman.)

According to the family, Salvame died on Wednesday morning, March 13.

“Manong Egay lived a life of purpose and adventures. Lumaki sa isla, nagsumikap na magtagumpay sa buhay, hanggang sa tinawag ng tadhana upang magsilbi sa ating bayan,” the post read.

(He grew up on the island, worked hard to succeed in life, until fate called him to serve our country.)

“Ibinigay niya ang kaniyang buhay, galing at puso para sa ating lahat (He gave his life, talent, and heart for all of us),” the post further said.

The post didn’t mention anything about what caused Salvame’s death.

He was designated as vice chairperson of the House Committee on Energy and Committee on Land Use in the current 19th Congress.
