P2.3-M marijuana seized in remote village


GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Authorities seized marijuana valued at P2.3 million in a remote mountain barangay bordering the provinces of Sarangani and Davao del Sur on Tuesday, March 12.

MARIJUANA worth P2.3 million was seized in a barangay bordering Malungon, Sarangani and Kiblawan, Davao del Sur on Tuesday, March 12.   

Police Col. Deanry Francisco, Sarangani provincial police director, said 11,500 fully grown marijuana plants planted on a half-hectare plantation were discovered and destroyed in the border of Barangay Datal Batong, Malungon, Sarangani and Barangay Bulol Salo, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

Sinaya, the cultivator, was able to escape before the operating team composed of the police, military, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrived.
