ANGADANAN, Isabela – A 63-year-old man died after he was electrocuted while fishing in an irrigation canal in Barangay Villa Domingo here on Tuesday morning, March 12.

Police Capt. Alex Galutera, municipal police station chief, identified the victim as Dominador Abad, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay San Antonio, Cauayan City, Isabela.
Abad was earlier seen fishing using an electric device and was found underwater at about 10 a.m. in the irrigation canal.
Police took the victim to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Lawmen theorized that the victim might have slipped and plunged into the irrigation canal and was electrocuted by his electric fishing device.
Student drowns in Isabela
A 14-year-old student drowned in an irrigation canal in Villa Remedios, Purok 7, Barangay San Antonio, Ramon, Isabela on Monday, March 11.
Police Corporal Edmar Concepcion, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Mark Lester Gregorio.
Investigation said Gregorio and a fellow student went to the irrigation canal to swim at noon time.
Gregorio’s companion left him afterwards and went home.
However, Gregorio went missing and his body was seen on Tuesday, March 12, floating on the main irrigation canal in Barangay San Antonio.
Concepcion reminded students to be careful in swimming in irrigation canals or rivers. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
