Here are the top 10 universities in the Philippines this 2024

UP Diliman holds the top spot in the 2024 ranking, followed by De La Salle University and then Ateneo de Manila University


The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman leads the top spot among the top 100 universities in the Philippines for 2024, as reported by EduRank, an independent metric-based ranking website, on Feb. 29, 2024.

The list was compiled by the organization using research outputs, non-academic prominence, and alumni influence. EduRank provides rankings based on metrics for 14,131 universities in 183 countries, considering 44,909,300 scientific publications and 1,237,541,960 citations.

The rankings are based on the analysis of 500,000 citations from at least 58,000 academic papers produced by 229 Philippines universities. Additionally, they take into consideration the popularity of 1,093 acknowledged alumni and utilize the largest available reference database.

EduRank considers 45 percent of the ranking based on the university's research, another 45 percent on its non-academic activities, and the remaining 10 percent on the prominence of its alumni.

Following UP Diliman, the second to tenth spots for the best universities in the country were occupied by De La Salle University Manila (#507 in Asia and #1,752 in the world), Ateneo de Manila University (#565 in Asia and #1,931 in the world), University of Santo Tomas (#836 in Asia and #2,652 in the world), UP Los Baños (#869 in Asia and #2,761 in the world), UP Manila (#927 in Asia and #2,927 in the world), University of San Carlos (#1,460 in Asia and #4,230 in the world), Asian Institute of Management (#1,654 in Asia and #4,667 in the world), Mapua University (#1,669 in Asia and #4,696 in the world), and Mindanao State University (#1,707 in Asia and #4,800 in the world).
