To help examinees gear up for the upcoming Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) on March 17, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released a set of comprehensive guidelines that provide valuable assistance to all test-takers on the big day.

Based on the instructions, examinees are required to confirm their school/building assignments either by visiting the official PRC website, prc.gov.ph, or by referring to the notices/announcements displayed at the PRC premises.

This notice is typically posted two or three days before the examination date.

The regulatory body also emphasized that candidates must report to their assigned school or building no later than 5:30 a.m.

It urged the public to "be punctual," as “late examinees will not be admitted.”

For the required attire, teacher aspirants must wear a "tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark)" for males and a "tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark)" for females.

"Examinees must be well-groomed, with hair properly clipped and/or ponytailed," stated the PRC.

What to bring

The PRC also provided a list of items that candidates need to bring during the examination. These items include:

Notice of Admission; Official Receipt of payment of application for examination; one piece long transparent white plastic envelope; one piece long size brown envelope; and two or more pencils (No. 2)

Examinees must also bring a ball pen with black ink only and negative RT-PCR test results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine, or Certificate or copy of Vaccination Card for fully vaccinated examinees to present to the proctor on the examination day.

Meanwhile PRC also provided a list of items which are prohibited inside the examination premises:

Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula.

The body also forbids candidates to bring calculators that can automatically carry out a sequence of operations under control of a stored program, much like a computer and/or with audiovisual features, and/or capable of external communication or internet connectivity.

The following items are also prohibited: Apple, Samsung, and other Smart watches, cellular phone, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, bluetooth and other electronic gadgets/devices which may be used to retrieve data/information and/or to communicate for whatever purpose; bags of any kind (ladies' bag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpacks, etc.); and other examination aids not stated in this program.

“All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room,” PRC said.
