BERLIN, Germany — President Marcos has arrived at the Chancellery (Bundeskanzleramt) where he will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss common areas of concern such as defense, labor, and trade among others.

Marcos arrived at the Chancellery at 11:30 a.m. (Berlin time) and was greeted by Scholz. He was then accorded with arrival honors.
The President was accompanied by Speaker Martin Romualdez, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil, Philippine Ambassador to Germany Irene Susan Natividad, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Theresa Lazaro, and Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Maria Elena Algrabre.
Marcos and Scholz will witness the signing of government-to-government agreements in Berlin including a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) on strengthening maritime cooperation and a cooperation program on technical, vocational, education, and training.
After his meeting and joint press conference with the German Chancellor, the President will attend several business meetings and the German-Philippine Business Forum before meeting with the Filipino community in Berlin in the evening.
