Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, March 12, attended the “Laban Kasama Ang Bayan (LKAB)” prayer rally by the supporters of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder and leader Apollo Quiboloy and asked for prayers for “truth and justice” as the embattled pastor faces human trafficking and rape allegations.

The supporters, chanting “Inday Sara Duterte” and holding placards of “Protect VP Inday Sara,” welcomed the Vice President with resounding applause.
“Nandito din ako para manawagan sa lahat na ipagdasal natin ang ating bansa. Magdasal tayo ng katotohanan, ng hustisya, para sa lahat na pantay-pantay ang pagtrato ng gobyerno sa lahat ng mga tao (I am also here to call for prayers for our country. Let us pray for truth, for justice for all, for government to treat everyone fairly),” she told Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) news channel, whose franchise was indefinitely suspended by Congress.
A video clip can be seen on SMNI’s X (formerly Twitter) page.
Duterte also thanked the KJOC, SMNI, and Quiboloy’s followers for their support for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd), which she heads in a concurrent capacity.
She urged that any grievances against the government must be discussed with President Marcos because such complaints must be talked about diplomatically.
“At masaya ako dahil ang mga supporters ni Pastor Apollo, Quiboloy, members ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ, personahe ng SMNI, mayroon mga ganito na mga rally, ng patitipon para mapalabas nila ang kanilang mga nararamdaman (And I am happy because the supporters of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, members of Kingdom of Jesus Christ, SMNI personnel hold these rallies to air their grievances),” she said.
“Ito’y pagpapakita ng ating (This shows our) freedom of speech and religion,” the official added.
Quiboloy, an avid supporter of the Dutertes and who was accused of allegedly giving Duterte and her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, bags of guns, is facing an inquiry by the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality over allegations of rape, human trafficking, and other abuses within the KOJC.
He is also facing a congressional investigation over the involvement of SMNI in the proliferation of fake news before the House of Representatives.
