Former NCRPO spokesperson tapped to lead Zamboanga City Police Office


Police Col. Kimberly Molitas, former National Capital Region Police Office publicist, assumed the post as Zamboanga City Police Office officer-in-charge on Monday, March 11.

Molitas assumed her post in an assumption of command ceremony. She took over from Police Col. Rainier Diaz who was ZCPO OIC for a week.

She was installed based on a memorandum issued by the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City to Police Regional Office 9 Director Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Masauding containing her designation.

“Per above reference, ‘the CPNP shall have the power to direct and control tactical as well as strategic movements, deployments, placements, utilization of the PNP or any of its units and personnel,’” the memo stated.

The Asia Foundation named Molitas as a 2016 Asia Foundation Development Fellow and former chief of the NCRPO Public Information Office.

Molitas had been with the Philippine National Police for 17 years in various capacities and served abroad with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

She completed the Humphrey Fellowship on Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration and holds a master’s degree in Transnational Crime Prevention.

Molitas also received the Outstanding Policewomen of the Philippines and Distinguished Service Medal award.
