Duterte acts like he's 'more than a member' of Quiboloy's Kingdom of Jesus Christ--church exec

Former president Rodrigo Duterte's actions toward Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's controversial church, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), is from someone who is "more than a member".

Thus, bared KOJC Executive Pastor Marlon Acobo during a public hearing Tuesday, March 12 by the House Committee on Legislative Franchises on the alleged franchise violations of television network SMNI.

Acobo attended the hearing in lieu of the missing Quiboloy. He preferred to address the committee in Bisaya, despite his obvious ability to understand both Filipino and English.

ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro asked Acobo point-blank: "Is former president Duterte a member of the KOJC? At ano naging role niya sa KOJC in the past (What was his role in KOJC in the past)?"

With SMNI lawyer Mark Tolentio serving as his translator, the executive pastor said of 78-year-old Duterte in Bisaya: "Hindi siya member ng ministry, but yung kanyang respeto at stand sa ministry is more than a member."

(He is not a member of the ministry, but his respect and stand toward the ministry is more than a member.)

Acobo also explained why Quiboloy recently picked Duterte as the administrator of his assets and properties.

"Si PRRD (Duterte), mataas yung kanyang experience, abugado po siya, then malapit na kaibigan siya sa ministry. Yun ang dahilan," Acobo said, through Tolentino.

(Duterte has high experience, he is a lawyer, then he is a close friend of the ministry. That's the reason.)

Quiboloy is reportedly in hiding from the subpoenas separately issued against him by the House of Representatives and Senate. He is the spiritual adviser of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
